Permanently delete your Foil Is Life account
Account deletion permanently removes the Foil Is Life account you are signed in to. It cannot be undone. Save any original ride exports or other information you want to keep before continuing; those exports can contain precise routes and health readings.
- Sign in to the Foil Is Life account you want to delete.
- On foilislife.com or in the iPhone app, open More → Account → Delete account.
- Read the explanation of what will be removed and the limits below.
- Type DELETE MY ACCOUNT exactly.
- Select Delete my account on web or Permanently delete my account on iPhone. Your sign-in must have been verified within the last ten minutes. Complete the web verification prompt if shown. If recent sign-in cannot be confirmed, use the offered sign-out action, sign in again, return to Delete account, and confirm again.
- Wait for Deletion request accepted on web or Deletion accepted on iPhone. The app will attempt to sign you out. Acceptance means your Foil Is Life account data and access were removed; uploaded-file and sign-in-account cleanup continue in the background.
You can leave the confirmation screen without submitting to keep your account. If an error appears before acceptance, read the message and check your connection or sign in again as directed. A lost connection does not prove whether the service accepted the request. If the app says deletion was accepted but local cleanup or sign-out failed, acceptance still stands; follow its cleanup/sign-out instructions instead of assuming the account remains active.
What deletion removes
Acceptance removes your application profile and its public details, private garage and setups, saved sessions including reversibly deleted sessions, recorded GPS routes and health readings stored in Foil Is Life, friendship relationships, owned reviews/comments/reports/product submissions, saved media records, and Watch registrations. Shared rides and private ride links stop working. Watch direct-upload access is revoked.
Uploaded-file cleanup includes your session photos/videos, profile and garage images, ride recording files, and catalog images you uploaded. Sign-in-account cleanup removes the Foil Is Life identity held by Clerk. These provider operations run in the background with retry/recovery when needed; the acceptance message does not confirm that every provider has finished. Cleanup also covers uploads that were already in progress and finish after deletion.
Shared catalog products, sizes, and alternate names remain available to the community. Removed catalog images are no longer shown, and identifying author details are removed from product-merge history. Deleting your account does not delete another rider's account or their independently saved journal.
Device copies, Health, backups, and retained protection records
Deleting through the website cannot directly erase storage on your iPhone or Watch. The iPhone deletion flow attempts to clear your account's identifiable saved rides, temporary files, and sign-in details and sends an account-specific cleanup message to a connected Watch. A Watch must receive that message before its local cleanup can run. Offline or unreachable devices can retain local copies; delivery to every device is not guaranteed by acceptance by the service. Some temporary files from older app versions lack account information and may remain until removed by the device. If the app reports incomplete local cleanup, follow its retry instructions.
Workouts already saved in Apple Health remain there. Manage or delete those separately in Apple's Health app. Exports saved outside Foil Is Life and copies already saved by other people remain under those holders' control. Deletion and link revocation cannot recall delivered copies.
After cleanup, we retain a limited record that identifies the deleted account indirectly, along with request, completion, and recovery details, to stop old app connections from recreating deleted account data. This means deletion does not leave zero records. Provider backups and any other provider-retained records have separate retention arrangements; no fixed expiry or immediate backup erasure is promised here.
Facebook unlinking is a separate action
Facebook sign-in is planned and is not currently enabled in production. If it is enabled later, removing Foil Is Life from Facebook's Apps and websites settings or unlinking its connected account in Clerk account settings changes the Facebook authorization. It does not itself delete your Foil Is Life account, saved rides, uploaded files, or your Facebook account. Removing your only usable sign-in method can affect your ability to return, so use Foil Is Life's Delete account controls before disconnecting it if permanent deletion is your intention. A provider may require another sign-in method before allowing a connection to be removed.
The planned Facebook connection requests only email and public_profile for basic sign-in. It does not request access to your Facebook friends list, photos, or posts. Foil Is Life Friends connections are managed within this service and do not import Facebook friends. Deleting your Foil Is Life account does not delete the Facebook account itself.
